10 Days Of Prayer
I've felt for many days now that I needed to reach out to our supporters, our team and our community about the remaining 10 days until we launch.
As I sat in a gathering of pastors yesterday, I felt that sense even more strongly. The verse that was shared in that circle is one that maybe many of you have heard before? It says this:
7 “Ask, and you will be given what you ask for. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Anyone who seeks, finds. If only you will knock, the door will open. Matthew 7:7-8
The idea is that we are called to pray. We are called to be persistent in our prayer. We even see a picture of how God desires to answer the prayers in our lives as the best kind of father.
So, I'm asking our team, our friends, our supporters all over the States and internationally, for the next 10 days, will you be persistent in prayer for us? With us? For this community and for this church? How about when you wake up? On the commute? When you see the name Turning Point when you are scrolling on Facebook? Will you pray with us?
Thanks for praying! You guys rock it!!!
Here's some things that have resonated in my heart! Pray that:
-Our community will be receptive and responsive to connect with Turning Point Church and ultimately with Jesus Christ.
-God will move in incredible ways on our launch day and connect with the hearts and minds of people.
-That after all the prep and praying, that the day will go VERY well. The music will be spot on. The message will connect with people. The kids ministry team will nail it. Every aspect of the day will have God's blessing and power.
-That those who are curious, seeking or committed will all be a part of that weekend. We want people to show up like crazy not for our own pride, but to point people to Jesus. To help people take a next step in knowing Christ.
-God will use our launch team in incredible ways. There is a team of people who have said 'I'm in' and have given their time, energy and resources. Will you pray that God will use them and bless them for their faith?
-For God's protection for the church and for our family.
-For strength physically, emotionally and spiritually.
-That people will KNOW Jesus!
