#do something

This coming weekend we are doing something others may think is crazy?  Maybe a bit risky?  We believe it's a step of faith!  We believe God will do some great things in the lives of our community because of this step.  Maybe even in our own lives?

What are you doing?  Well, I'm going to be a little covert about it right now. Why?  We want it to be a surprise in our community.   We want it to create some, 'what in the world?' kinds of thoughts.  Ultimately we want what we are doing to honor Jesus Christ.

So, we are going to show up and smile and walk the parade.  We are going to pass out about 6,000 pieces of candy.  We are going to pass out about 2,000 Turning Point magnets.  We will shake hands and meet people.  We will laugh and try to show the love of Christ in very simple ways.  AND we will also be giving out 'something' so that people can serve other people in our community.

I mean, after all, don't we typically think of primarily ourselves?  Don't we normally go through life just making sure that the things that orbit around us are spinning correctly?  Well, what if we stopped along the way and thought about others?  What if we actually did something for others?  How much would that change us?  How much would it change our community?

So, this Saturday, July 4th, 2015, we are going to put something into the hands of people in Bonita that we hope and pray will motivate them to care for others.  To serve others.  To #dosomething for others.

My friends, you were chosen to be free. So don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do anything you want. Use it as an opportunity to serve each other with love.  All that the Law says can be summed up in the command to love others as much as you love yourself.

Galatians 5:13-14
