Consistent

I believe most of us would agree that some of he best things that happen to us in life are when we stay consistent. Staying in shape requires consistent working out and eating right. Raising great children requires consistent discipline and direction from parents. Even a growing and maturing faith in Christ happens when we consistently connect with God in reading his Word, communicating through prayer and being a part of Christian community. Here is how consistency is defined:

Constantly adhering to the same principles, course, form.
— Consistency

We know that when we do the right things consistently we end up in a better place. That’s an easy case to make don’t you think?

As we find ourselves already in the middle of the summer, we know consistency is often more challenging in lots of ways. And let’e be honest; even in attending church. We get it. We know people are traveling, visiting family and getting in some needed rest and relaxation that is often not available during the busy school year. So, go ahead and take some time this summer to refuel your family AND refuel your faith. Both are so important!

Yet with all of the traveling, do you know what remains consistent? The needs of others. Serving our community. Kids ministry. Local outreach. Staying connected with our ministry relationships overseas. Even though you or your family may be taking a break, ministry never takes a break. The needs of others never go on vacation. Who we serve as a church happens you whether we are at church, at the beach, riding a roller coaster or spending time with family. So do you know what really helps especially in the summer months? Your consistency in giving.

You’ve probably heard me say it before. No matter who is here on Sundays, ministry still happens and ministry still costs money. It just does. You can help us make a huge difference and help us fulfill our mission through this summer simply by giving consistently. Consistently when you are here. Consistently when you can’ t be here. When you do that, you help us budget better, serve others better and plan for the future better. Many of you already do that! Thank you, thank you and thank you. It helps so much!

If you not there yet, would you take a step? It’s easy! You can do so digitally with your checking account or with a credit card. You can set it and forget it. That’s consistent. You can set it for once a month, twice a month or whatever rhythm works best for you. That too is consistent. If you are ready to take that step you can begin that today at our giving page or if you want to dig in and compare what method is easier, here is a step by step guide. Thank you in advance for helping our church serve people and point people to Christ all summer long

There is a verse in the book of Proverbs that has always been challenging, yet encouraging when it comes to this topic of giving. Check out this wisdom.

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
— Proverbs 11:25

Generous people prosper, they grow and they even make a difference in the lives of others. God even promises to take care of those who are generous. When you are refreshed, God steps in and makes sure that you are refreshed too.

So, as you take necessary time to refresh yourself this summer, don’t forget this pearl of wisdom from Scripture. We are still called, above all, to make sure we to “refresh others.” Let’s be Jesus follower this summer who are “refreshers” of others. One of the most impacting ways you can do that, is by being consistent in giving to fulfill the mission of the local church.

Reaching people together.
