Vision Sunday, This Sunday

We’ve had the privilege to fly to a lot of places in the US and across the world. I get a little nervous each time the plane takes off and the bumps that go with it.  However, the part of it that I like is when we are cruising really high or are in the process of landing.  If it’s clear, you can see everywhere. You can see everything!  I love to see the expanse of the sky.  I love to see how creative the clouds are placed in the sky.  I enjoy seeing how the rivers cut through the earth or how the cities are all laid out.   All of it.

From that view, you can see everything.  That's what I would call vision.  The ability to see the big picture.  The ability to see what's ahead.  Here's how scripture says it.

And the Lord said to me, “Write my answer on a billboard, large and clear, so that anyone can read it at a glance and rush to tell the others.
— Habakkuk 2:2

Vision is clear.  It's big.   It's like passing by a billboard.  You drive by, see it,  and understand it.  It's so clear that once you pass by it sticks with you.  You know what to do and where to go.

That's the kind vision and purpose God wants for all of us.  That’s what I want for your life.  That’s what I want for this church.  A great big picture of what God wants and where he's leading us.  That’s vision.

Join us Sunday to get a BIG PICTURE of where God is leading us.
